How to view call attribution and keyword information in Google Analytics
Follow the below steps to see all attribution (channel, source, medium, source/medium, etc) and ad click and keyword information in your Google Analytics 4 account.
If you would prefer to see keywords in the WildJar portal, you can add also an additional parameter to your ad URLs. This will not affect your ability to see this information in GA4.
Attribution
- Log in to your Google Analytics account
- On the left sidebar, select Advertising
- Under Planning, select All Channels
- Click the X/X key events in the report header and select only the key event configured as part of your GA4 integration (by default, "phone_lead") and click Apply
- You will now see the default channel group attributed to these events
- If you would like to see source/medium or other attribution information, click the + to add a secondary dimension and select the required secondary dimension
- You will now see the attribution information attributed to these events as your secondary dimension, for example, source/medium
Ad click and keywords
- Log in to your Google Analytics account
- On the left sidebar, select Advertising
- Under Planning, select Google Ads
- Click the X/X key events in the report header and select only the key event configured as part of your GA4 integration (by default, "phone_lead") and click Apply
- Either select Google Ads keyword text from the header or click the + to add Google Ads keyword text as a secondary dimension.
- You will now see the keyword information displayed in the table, alongside Google Ads click information.
