How are missed, busy, and abandoned calls measured?

Question

How are missed, busy, and abandoned calls measured?

Answer

Missed, busy and abandoned calls are the three different kinds of missed call statuses recorded in the WildJar system.

Call Status How it is measured
Missed The call has not been answered (by a person or the answer point phone system) before the missed call timeout.
Abandoned The caller has hung up before the call is answered (by a person or the answer point phone system) and before the missed call timeout.
Busy The call has received the busy signal from the answer point or the answer point's network.

By default, the missed call timeout is set to 25 seconds but this is fully customisable in the call flow settings.

Please note: If an automated recording, IVR menu or phone system picks up the call, it will be considered answered by our system and not route to voicemail or an overflow transfer.
